This brief was aimed at Frequency Festival in Lincoln to create an interactive instillation that brings an issue or topic to life through these interactions around the theme of "Disruption = Cultural Reinvention". I chose the topic of social media addiction, I wanted people to understand the serious effects it can have on people.
I created the idea name Social Reflection, a smart mirror instillation that is interacted with via gestures. Users would swipe through tweets via these and the mirror would show them the effects of the addiction even responding to positive and negative tones in tweets on their face.
The experience would have been created with a two way mirror with a screen behind it, creating a smart mirror it then would have used both a webcam and an Xbox Kinect to track and register gestures, and the users face to apply the facial effects via the screen.
As the user used the experience more they would become more and more addicted with each dopamine, this could be from swiping through the tweets more and more or only reading overly positive ones. This would then be represented via this slow melting effect, showing the draining nature this addiction can have on your life. UI made in Adobe XD and the video with the effects in After Effects.
I used Twitters colour scheme and similar typography so that people would make the link themselves, creating a link to the site they know and probably use but showing what it can do to them.

The location for the instillation would be inside the Peter de Wint building in the Project Space Plus area. Alongside the instillation would be some general information around the topic and what the instillation actually is. Mock ups were made in Adobe Photoshop, due to restrictions I wasn't able to actually place mirror in the given environment.
To understand some of the software that could be used to create the work I looked into Lens Studio and created several experiments to learn parts of the software and what I could do with it.
